2.2 Stable vs 2.4 colour balance

Post by CoolColJ » Wed Apr 21, 2010 11:17 pm

I resumed a test render in 2.4 that I started in v2.2 stable and there seems to be a difference in look. V2.2 had a warmer redder look while v2.4 looks cooler and more blue, with everything exactly the same

Has there been a change in the rendering and tone mapping?

yeah, lightlayers are now RGB.

the default light layer colour will change in the next release to match 2.2.

So the color will initially default to what is exported?
At the moment it's a pain to tweak light colors. If I want to add more blue for example it jumps right to what is used inside RGB box.

I see the original colour tone when I first resume a scene and then it jumps to a different colour balance

As fused said the old behaviour will be restablished. I think that at some point there was a demand for RGB color space instead of XYZ, but... you see the reactions.

Everyone is used the good old way (wich is also probably a better choice).
