sky.exr

Post by Shmesh » Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:55 am

I am trying to get an image of the sky to reflect of the windows in my model. I think I need to the sky.exr for the background and then set the render settings to background. Is this correct>? Where can I find the sky.exr?

Also if I am wrong, how would I go about getting the sky to reflect in the windows?

How do you change the HDR to an EXR

Post by Shmesh » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:47 am

When I try to render the scene with the HDR as a sphere, all I get is a lot of color pixels. How do you change the HDR to and EXR.

What am I doing wrong?

With Indigo you can use only LatLong HDRs. Here can you download HDR to EXR converter

There is a Sticky about this in the Indigo General forum, toward the end of that thread is another program that can be used.

But be prepared to do a lot of experimenting. I still don't understand the correlation between the size of the exr and how big it is, in the render.

You can try this one!
It's very simple (and if I say so.....)

Good luck!
