Strange rendering result
Strange rendering result
Just a first test on a model I did want to render and insert in a bigger composite.
Rendering from Skindigo output this result https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxbefK ... sp=sharing
The source model appear this one (a Little prince model) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxbefK ... sp=sharing
Obviously something goes wrong with the planet!

Re: Strange rendering result
Too high displacement! The planet is displaced by more than its radius.
Check either the planet size, or the material displacement amount

Re: Strange rendering result
Thanks, some experimenting with different materials give me better results.
Another stupid thing: need to composite the render without any background, how can I avoid the Sky background in the Environment, leaving the Sun illumination?
Without atmosphere the result it's a lunar like illumination with no light diffusion, but I did need to have the planet in a black or better transparent background.

Re: Strange rendering result
Just check under the Render settings, Foreground alpha option. That will make the background transparent, whether it be sun simulation, or hdr/image background.
Re: Strange rendering result
Perfect alpha channel is the solution.
Apologize to continue asking, but there is a way to define the output size directly from Indigo interface? Or need I to start always from Skindigo plugin?

Re: Strange rendering result
You mean the picture resolution? Yes, it is in the render setting>Imaging> Width x Height. It is pretty much the first thing you see when you start Indigo, in the upper right corner.
Re: Strange rendering result
Thanks again this was the solution.
Now I'm forced to use Blender for a new 3d model, never used at all.
I was able to setup Blender to use Indigo as render engine, but can't find a control panel where set render options such as gpu acceleration and finish conditions, someone can help me on that?

Re: Strange rendering result
As a C4D user, I can't help you much with that. But I am sure that if you start a thread in the Blender exporter section, someone proficient with that program/exporter will help you out. For now, thanks to galinette, this strange displacement behaviour is explained.
Best of luck using Indigo, and related apps!

Re: Strange rendering result
Found it thanks.
Still setting a Custom rendering mode and enabling GPU rendering only the CPU is used.
Can't find any "Apply settings" button, need I to save the new Rendering conf in some way?
