In the max exporter we're using 3dsmax sun (or direct light as alternative) for indigo sunlight, because you can define your current daytime and position. I wish that we can solve some geometry issues soon to post it

Well.. for me dirtect light is the best way to get the sunlight exactly where i want it. I always hated that i can't manually place the sun in Maxwell. So.. sun system is nice and all, but i prefer direct light (more direct approach  )

What issues do you exactly have there?

I have problems with normal smoothing (specially with .obj). This morning radiance has adviced me that maybe i would separate in objects every smoothing group. In your exporter, normals are OK?
And of course I have a neverending fight with multiple UVs XD

Regards

Alejandro

PD: 3dsmax sun can be moved manually

I had some normal problems a while ago. I think i had also problems with obj format. No big issues at the moment though. It also depends on the model.

I mostly use xml format cause i've written the exporter for it myself and it seems to work better than 3ds or obj in some cases. It also has 3 uv channels.
