I could do it. But you've right we have to decide what way we go, with same of different variables for each sort of material. The idea is actually not bad but requires more code lines ;)

i think it's not important if we have 1 or 2 variable-sets. 2 seems to be simplier i think.

Soon i will come up with the XML library :D - then all material data are stored as indigo XML datablocks inside blender scene. So it will be possible to save or load "*.igm" material-files. 8)

The access from GUI buttons to internal data will go over an interface that allows calls like:
xml.readValue("material.diffuse.colour")
xml.writeValue("medium.basic.absorption_coefficient_spectrum.rgb.rgb", "0.3 0.4 0.5")
as you see, all access needs to use the indigo XML material structure. In this way the materials are directly ready for export 8) :D

The big disadvantage will be that we need to completely rewrite the internal GUI stuff  , but then it will be up to date and quite flexible for future extensions in Indigo-materials  :D

:D will it also be faster?
You also will have to rewrite your exporter, when 2.44 final appears:
it has a great SSS-material tab, that also could be used :D instead of strangely increasing/decreasing such things like "limit" in Ray transparency part....
it everytime should be 100 in my oppinion...

But it's great, though :D

Did you copy the preview folder to your indigo dir? Or set up a preview scene of your taste?

hmmm that's strange, by any chance are you using linux, I had an issue with the folder name and renamed it previews all in lower case, I think DaveC fixed that, just check to make sure.... Otherwise something probably not set up correctly in your side

I noticed in blendigo 0.7t7 (I think it is in other versions, too) that the aperture value gets resettet everytime you close the skript window or click ctrl-z in blender (which closes the skript window). So the value is not saved...

Dear zuegs:

thank you.

:)

(I don't think I ever just took a step back to see how far we've come!)

So I'm just saying that I (and we all) appreciate all of the hard work you have done! :)

Man, remember back in the .5 days?

Fiddling with internal blender material settings - bleh.

So, seriously, thank you and everyone.

Why is there no separate thread for Blendigo 0.8?
