Indigo 2.2.5, with Mat Editor beta 4
Re: Indigo 2.2.5, with Mat Editor beta 4
Some material database bugs/requests: (sorry if these are duplicates)
- Make the preview scenes useful for emitting materials. In SkIndigo, I set the preview model's emission scale to balance the other emitting elements in the preview scene. That way, when an emitting material is created, it is exposed properly. Can you do something similar? Another option is a separate preview scene for emitting materials
- Option to set the subdivision of the preview model or make it more useful for displacement materials
- A better preview scene for SSS materials
- A preview scene for 'thin' materials like fabric, or diffuse transmitter materials

+1 to all of those - especially the subdivision for displacementWhaat wrote:Some material database bugs/requests: (sorry if these are duplicates)

I post here some tests I did on exit portals.
I spotted something going wrong for some render methods, hope you can fix those.

@Pibuz
What's wrong exactly ?
That bidir off renders more slowly? I think that's normal.

From my experience bidir is actually faster in giving a cleaner result, although it can dark glass a lot.suvakas wrote:@Pibuz

Single PT shows sun spots as a few fireflies only...
Re: Indigo 2.2.5, with Mat Editor beta 4
Exactly.
- Single PT shows no direct illumination at all;
- Single MLT shows strange artifacts, which are completely unexpected;
- Single Hybrid is a worse version of Single MLT: artifatcs will converge in a much longer time;
- Alpha Rendering is not working with Exit portals ON (completely white image).

I thought it is slower for indirect lighting.
@Pibuz
Exit portal is a geometry. That's probably why it is altering the alpha. But it's good idea indeed. Alpha should ignore the portal mesh. Ono?

Hi all! When it will be available a Mac OS X version of this 2.2.5? Or, even more important, do you plan to release the betas simultaneously for Win and Mac? BR
Re: Indigo 2.2.5, with Mat Editor beta 4
I don't know if you are aware of the beta download page at http://www.indigorenderer.com/download/beta/ - the latest Mac version to be found there is 2.2.1.amadex wrote:Hi all! Re: Indigo 2.2.5, with Mat Editor beta 4
A new idea I though of for blend materials. You create your two constituent materials and then you create a blend material. After that, you could just drag the two materials icons onto the icon for the blend material, at which point, they would slide into place as miniature icons overalayed over the larger blend material icon.. This is of course assuming that that materials are represented as icons..
