Well it turns out I made a mistake when I resumed that render, I accidently used the wrong scene file and rendered an underwater version on top of that render...that's why those under surface water caustics showed up so quickly and why there are caustics in the sky.... Razz
And why I haven't been able to replicate the same result with the same scene...

I have tried many times in V0.9 test 7, test 6 and v0.8 and not a single sign of water caustics, with all different kind of parameters. Even with MNCR of 500,000.
