Noob in textures!

Post by danyolgiax » Fri Dec 28, 2007 10:08 pm

Hi all,

I'm trying to texture faces of a simple box with a skyskraper image.

Can someone guide me or post a link for a simple guide?

thx!

Hi there. Could you give us a bit more info about how far you've got and what problems you're having?

1) select your box and load your textures in blender (F6)

2) go to UV Face Select mode

3) select your desired faces, unwrap them

4) go to UV Image Editior and position your images
(this last 2 steps you can do them all at once or face by face, depends how complex your model is or as you wish)

5) Go back to your 3D scene view and Object mode and in material go to Map Input and select UV, then in the exporter, assuming you are using blendigo, load your albedo (same image) export and render

Well it doesn't change anything that I know, I have just sometimes used it and sometimes not, but I never see any changes, I mostly do what I mentioned above, but before when I was in learning curve I did use it often. I really don't think it affects the UV mapping at all.
