Image saving

Hello everybody,

Excuse me for this simple question, but

where do I set the image path and format for automatic savings?

Is there any way to save the render while you are watching it on the viewer window? Can I stop it, save the image, and resume the render?

If you're using Max, then the quickest way is to press the "Open In Frame buffer" button on the exporter panel and you can save to whatever format Max is supporting. That requires Max to be running though.
