IES Pack
IES Pack
Hi all! So, the title says it all.
I thought it could be useful to have a collection of IES files on the site, so everyone can fully test the potential of the latest Indigo IES support.
I'm a sketch user, so i tested some files myself. Most of all work fine, some of them don't: while loading the .igs file Indigo crashes saying something about degrees and vertical limit. I really don't know in programming language what does this mean, i only know some files don't work (few files, though).
So, i post them down here. Hope it's useful for anyone interested.
**EDIT** Added IESviewer screenshot

- This is a useful program to preview the light effect via a little image. It's simple enough for self learning!

I mean you could make previews and insert they into your post. i mean, why should i download a "cat in the bag".Pibuz wrote:Hi Smart!
Ctrl+R for the preview rendering, after having selected the desired IES file.
Preview rendering may also be toggled by clicking on a little grayscale icon on the left, under the big root window.
Check normals, dude!

ALL OF THEM? THEY'RE LIKE 2 HUNDREDS, SMARTDEN!!!!
No, i can't post a preview of EACH ies file, it would take forever! Moreover, this topic would become a mess of images and relative codes: i think it wouldn' be more understandable than what's now.
So: i searched into the net, uploaded 3 rar files, made a previewer available: now i think it's time for me to let the users test by themselves what's worth using and what's not.
The only thing i can say to ensure you is: mate, for me it's all good stuff.

BTW, I just had to check that these files are freely available - and they are.
here's the source:

the site also contains further details about the fittings.
