Dude, the Q6600 sold like HOTCAKES after the price decrease.

Vendors online reported four and FIVE figure sales of that item.

Seriously.

Wow.

Oh, and install x64 Ubuntu on that thing, and release a native port, dammit :D

And make an Indigo plugin for CompizFusion, so I can render my desktop at .001 FPS ( http://www.opencompositing.org )

Are there any hardware specialists here ? For Indigo, a quad core is of course better than a dual core. But, for games, does any1 know if a dual core with a FSB at 1333Mhz is better than a quad with a FSB at 1066 ?

(Sorry for my question a little bit off topic)

stur games usualy don use multithreats....so dual core is ok for games....im my quad core i can play collin mc rae dirt ans render on indigo with 2 cores without a frame loose!
so for games an single 6600 are good for rendering....as mutch as possible cores :)

the most SMP games are only optimized supporting 2 Threads, so using a Quadcore 2 cores aren't used... Crysis, UT07 and Alan Wake are some (future) games that support 4 Thread (or even more????) by the engine they use... but remeber to have enough RAM for gaming & rendering, also Big 3D Scenes saving big igi files to the same HDD your game is runing at, may result in some stuttering!
