And by lots, I mean LOTS!
Better prevent this BEFORE it happens, not flag lots of mats afterwards...

Indigo community is nice - but not the rest of the internet

There are methods of blocking spam bots.. Aside from the more complex ones which I don't understand, the site could just require registration from popular POP3 email services like gmail, msn, yahoo, etc.
Bots use email harvesting with random emails like
freecreditcard@extra-rewards.com or something.
Anyhow, the site hasn't been hit by any spam bots so far, so I wouldn't worry. Most spam bots target forums

a) you are free to create email addresse there and bots do so.
b) i often use my @purespider.de email domain... exclude me because of that?
c) it has been hit by spambots several times yet.

I think a better solution would be to have either ono or benn approve the gallery image/material before it shows up on the site.

Im curious about the resume render button. Presumably there will be an option to automatically begin rendering after you make changes to the material..? If you had to manually restart the render manually every time, it wouldn't be very time efficient.

I dont get the use of such a feature, cant you just hit "Start" again? (or Stop, Start, if it was already running)
I haven't used it yet, maybe I should, but right now I'm on a quick break from my math homework.

If you change only the material i don't see the use of loading what otherwise remains the same.

As I said, you can, but it would detract from the fluidity of your workflow. With automatic updating, the material editor will start to feel more artist friendly, almost like mixing paint.. except physically accurate paint. I have a pretty diverse background as far as art goes.. I've experimented quite a bit with painting, and it would be a little unideal if we had to click start everytime we mixed a color with another color to see the results.
The idea comes from another renderer called radium. It felt great. So natural..

+1- but only if you can also disable it.
Could get pretty annoying if your trying to add a lot of changes to a material and the auto preview keeps kicking in and slowing it all down!

And the editor is soon to be released?

For the short time that I worked with radium, the automatic previews didn't give me any issues with slowdowns. I really have never had any strong opinions on whether speed should be the next big thing for indigo, but I think fast material previews would really be beneficial. Having a quick, optimized scene would really help people build the materials more effectively. I don't know if this is possible, but I would really like to see decent convergence (70 - 100 sp) in maybe half a minute on a 2 core cpu.. An idea that I was playing with.. Maybe indigo could function like a car, in that it goes as fast as it can but when you start up more programs (aka like other cars), it slows down to ensure that your computer doesn't slow to halt.
If anything it would be helpful to have the progress overlayed over the actual material itself. Maybe even give people the option of choosing how many spp per pixel to render to right in the material editor main window, in which case the progress would be displayed as a (partially transparent?) progress bar.
