Can you preset rendering times?
Can you preset rendering times?
Is it possible to set your renderings to automatically stop after X amount of time? There are many times where I am rendering an object a few different times (each model varying slightly from the other). I might have 3 models that need rendering and say I only have time in the day to do the first 2 at say 5 hours each. I would like to have the 3rd model render over-night...just not all night long. I would like to set the rendering time to 5 hours to match the quality of the other 2. This may not be possible yet but seems like it would be an easy addition to future releases.
Re: Can you preset rendering times?
yes, it is possible. In indigo called halt parameters.
You can define a target SPP value or a value in seconds.
Per default both settings are set to -1,
No idea where they are hidden in Skindigo.
The manual knows for sure

I see where in "render settings" it says halt (value -1) and you can select seconds or SPP. Can you help me understand these terms a little better? The manual is kind of vague. If I change the halt value is that considered the number of seconds if seconds are selected rather than SPP?Zom-B wrote:yes, it is possible. In indigo called halt parameters.

Re: Can you preset rendering times?
Actually I just answered my own question. I set halt to 59 and it stopped after 59 seconds. So in my original question i will just change the halt to 18,000 and after 5 hours I will have a perfect rendering.buzzkill wrote:I see where in "render settings" it says halt (value -1) and you can select seconds or SPP.
