@dougal: That's what I'm doing at the moment, but I can only define when a image has to be saved before I start the rendering. At least as far as I know. So I first start with maybe a image every 60 seconds, then every 5 minutes and when I think it will turn out ok every 20 minutes. Would be nice to do that without restarting (loading the scene again etc.).

ah gotcha. I seem to forget that most of the time I'm only doing test renders that save every 5 seconds - and other people don't work this way

Yes I know he wants to continue to provide it free for non commercial use but the ultimate goal is to make money with the commercial sdk.

But a nice, userfriendly gui will definitely make it a lot easier for newbies or just non-cmd-lovers.

Since Indigo is fully operateable from commandline, it is easy to make an external gui (just like the resumers and other utilities).
So that somebody did an external gui with whatever functions people would like, seems like a good idea to me.
As far as i know (which isn't very much) it wouldn't affect the performance. At least not much.
I made the same proposal more than 8 months ago! ;-)

well, we're on the way towards this, so what's the point in resurrecting this old thread ?

I love indigo, but the better I get with it and the more complesx my scenes become, I find myself doing like 10 tests for each scene..
