Hello,

It's my first post on this forum but I would like to share some of my first renders.

A big thanks to OnoSendai for this incredible free renderer .

Wow, great renders!
I'm not sure what a MOCVD reactor is, but it looks cool

The Photoluminescence equipment is cool, but there's an experiment i'd like to see done with it:
Set up a light beam through the lenses, add some participating media, and see what it looks like

OK I'll try to do this but I don't known what participating media are, so it'll be a little bit long to do

MOCVD is Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition ( or Metalorganic Vapor Phase Epitaxy), is for making thin film for electronics or optoelectronic devices.

Yes your right the coffee is made in Hydrogen atmosphere under ammonia ans Trimethylindium flow.

OK, I'll try

For the inspiration I had made my PHD studies on this reactor so it was made with blueprint

and photography.

Some example of application:

All the device made with GaAs, AlAs, InAs and alloys (not Si) are made with MOCVD system.
You must well known this devices: Yellow to Infrared diodes, laser diodes and photo-detectors. High frequencies component of your cell phone are also made by mocvd...

New devices like Blue (and UV) diodes ans laser diodes made with GaN, InN, AlN and alloys are also made with MOCVD equipment (the reactor I've modeled (AIXTRON R&D equipment) is dedicated to nitrides growth and can go up to 1200°C under corrosive atmosphere).

A render for GaN01.nk data, It works but not as expected:
GaN have a band-gap of about 3.4 eV, so it is transparent to visible light and begin to absorb UV wavelength.

transparent stuff gernarally doesnt work as expected:
Indigo uses Phong for .nk, which doesn't support transparency.

Hmm - it never occurred to me that .nk files weren't handled interally as something seperate - now the reason some of them don't work makes sense. That is all. I have nothing to add to the discussion. I just like understanding stuff.
