Water Problems

Post by CarlosR26 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 4:08 pm

Hello from Mexico...

Im not an artist but i love natural phenomena (like light) so i love indigo...

I was playing with this scene, but it looks awful...

Image

It is basically a water body, and the camera es positioned half underwater half above.. why there is a black line along the upper part of the water?.... and why it doesnt have caustics?.... i use it BidMLT.

I use the SandBox tool for model the surface.

Thanks for ur imput.

The camera isn't allowed to be half in the water, make it all in or all out.

Whoa, that's funky.

but I'm not sure Indigo supports not having the camera entirely in a medium..

Ono would be useful here. :)

EDIT: haha, he beat me anyways.

Actually, the camera doesn't need to be in the medium. Model a vertical wall in the water and put your camera in front of it. Also, I think the black lines are smoothing errors. It looks like your water mesh is WAY too low-poly. Give a few subdivision or higher density and it should work fine.
