How to run Indigo in a lower priority mode automaticly

Post by CoolColJ » Wed Sep 12, 2007 7:55 pm

If you want to use all your CPU threads without lagging your system while Indigo renders - then you need to lower it's priority

you can set Indigo into a Below Normal priority automaticly in Windows XP

1) right click on Indigo's icon and create a new shortcut
2) right click on the shortcut and select properties
3) in the target field add this line in front of the existing info

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "Indigo" /belownormal

just rename this new shortcut to something like Indigo_below_normal or whatever and double click on it to start Indigo in below normal priority mode

it does run a little slower, but not by much if your not doing anything

sorted 8)

if you want to revert back to normal priority -

then hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the windows task manager

go to processes and find Indigo, or just hit CPU field, which should show Indigo at the top or bottom

right click on it and select a new priority

Easier way:

Right click in indigo folder -> "New" -> "Text Document" -> type indigo.bat -> hit enter twice -> type START /BELOWNORMAL indigo.exe default.igs => save and exit

...Well, it doesn't look easier when I type it all out, I guess :P

Using CTRL-SHIFT-ESC might save you one click :D

Right clicking on an empty area of the taskbar and choosing Task Manager gets you the task manager without a touch of the keyboard at all :P

There's also no specific column you have to click on.

clicking the column is just to bring up Indigo, instead of scrolling around looking for it, since it's the highest CPU user
