Hi all,
Does anyone know why I have these white areas near the edges of my ceiling? And: how do I make sure they don't show up when I rerender?

it's a little hard to tell, but is the ceiling touching the walls, or is there a gap?
is your indigo set to sun/sky or to black? looks like sun is seeping in.

I would agree with crc, It looks like a lip before the ceiling is letting in light or if there is a lip, make sure the material is not set to an emitter?

Thanks, guys. I did think of light seeping in, so I set sun/sky to black and rerendered. The above render is the result.
I'll check if the material is an emitter (which I doubt). If not, I'll rebuild the model.

Is the orange-ish colored light along walls supposed to be there? It looks like some indirect lighting. The light on the ceiling looks like it's coming from there. If it isn't indirect light, maybe it should be.

yeah, it looks, like there is an emitter

If you have emitters, there, glowing upwards, that result actually looks correct

Yes, the orange-ish light is intentional. Should be another colour though.
If the result is indeed correct, maybe I should make two renders: one with, and one without the 'orange-ish' light.
Thanks for your input, guys.

I only said "orange-ish" to differentiate it from the other lights in the room. I expect it is really neutral seeing as how it doesn't change the color on the ceiling. The orange is obviously from the wood panelling. If I was doing this render, and I'm far from an expert, I'd reduce the intensity of the indirect lighting by quite a lot. I'd also be inclined to put the emitter as close to the top edge of the lower part of the wall as I could without having it bleed over the top. I think that would create a softer edge to the light on the ceiling

Thanks, Dave. Sounds like a plan!
