Hello all,
New to the forum, it looks like a great and very helpful community.
I have been experimenting with indigo for a couple weeks now and need some assistance.
How do you place an image in a model so that it will be rendered(as in a piece of artwork)? I am trying to render the model below, but the picture above the bed renders white. Its a jpeg that I imported into sketchup.
Additionally I would like some info on environment maps/background images. Does anyone have instruction on how to implement these? Exactly what an environment map is, if they are available to download somewhere, how lighting works with them etc. I would like to know how to be able to accomplish something like the background in this image.

Doesn't seem to be much info out there about it.
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Rob
Why doesn't a jpeg image within a sketchup model render?

For the image, just right click->explode.
The environment map is a little bit more complicated. Basically all they are is a picture that also stores information abut the brightness of each pixel, this mean they can light your scene. Indigo uses the .exr format, you can find a few examples here: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... f=7&t=2454
Once youve downloaded the image, in the render settings in skindigo, go to environment then select 'environment map.' You can then browse for your downloaded image. You'll probably want to do a test render to check whether youve got the right type selected in skindigo (the little drop down box which says lat/long or spherical.) If it looks weird just switch it.
Lastly, if its looking a bit dark whack the gain up.
