Thank you all for the previous answers.... I have yet another question.

When you load the exr of a sky image, how do you get the sun/ light to work>?

there is only one kind of background lightning possible at the same time.

You'll have to fake the hard shadows of the sun by using a tiny mesh light, position it so that it fits to the env_map sun position, and place it faaaar away from the scene center.

Use efficacy scaling for the light source, and give the env_map a gain of ~ 10000.
Here you'll sure have to do some try & error work to get the light the way you wan't :?
