Material attributes?

Post by xrok1 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 2:51 pm

in skindigo is there a way to save or copy material attributes, to apply to a different material. for example: if i have wood on a table with a certain reflectivity etc. and i want the surface properties of the chairs for example can i copy them without going through every setting manually? or say i want to use one of the material presets with a different texture....

P.S what is the power setting for?

There is no 'cut and paste' for material attributes. There are two workarounds. You can save the material you wish to copy (as IGM) and then load it for all other materials that you want to apply it to.

Also, if you have selected the material you wish to copy in the Paint Bucket, click the 'Create Material...' button. The new material will have all of the Indigo attributes that the original material had. This can be a useful trick

Power settings is used only if the emitter checkbox is checked (emitter material). If you are using Reinhard tonemapping, you will not see a difference with different light power settings unless you have two light sources in the same scene with different light powers. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. I have to go to bed now. :)
