Re: Materials creating funny effect
Indeed, I'm not sure about what could be possibly cause them..
It seems like a very old bug, ten releases ago or so, when triangulation of large surfaces was a little buggy in some cases.. Sometimes that was due to overlapping multiple faces.
Check that.
If not, upgrade to a newer version.

it just looks like a uv mapping issue to me. like the models weren't unwrapped correctly for their textures (not sure how that's done in sketchup)

Re: Materials creating funny effect
Hi cheers for getting back to me, yeah not sure where I messed up while adjusting the material qualities for the render. Found the best way to resolve the issue was jump back a few models pre render preperation and retrace my steps.
Included below new render with materials working a bit better. Got a few little changes here and there to make, is there anything else you might suggest to improve the image??
Hey Pibuz I had a look at your blog, your mods and renders are pretty slick, nice work...

Yeah have updated both SU and indigo now to the latest versions. Had some problems with windows updates that eventually put the computer into system recovery reverting the programs back to earlier versions...

Use larger textures to avoid tiling.

Yeah definitely, been jigging up some of the sketchup materials for this render though will look at finding some better ones. With the grass I ended up reducing the size significantly so it doesn't seem so tiled
