Hmm, HDR image support in 0.8 would be cool... more texure map options than just color and bump (i.e. normal, spec, alpha.) The speculation could go on for days!

I agree with HDR image support. That's what most HDRI files are formatted as

I like exr much more. It's from IndustrialLightandMagic.
Also exr is much more powerful. I would like to see the possibility for using exr_probe.
But having an ior-map would be much more needed, I think!
