The wharf is displaced via indigo. The water (SSS) is displaced in blender. I originally tried displacing both in indigo but had some issues with Blendigo trying to figure out which mesh displacement parameters I was modifying.

While getting the images ready I found out why it's not working - I think there's a bug in the display location of the subdivide button in the mesh tab. Originally I had the window too small to display all of the contents for the script - the button was not visible (even if I scrolled to the bottom)...

I tried subdividing the mesh - and Blendigo seemed to subdivide it before creating the igs file. I was under the impression that the displacement feature of Indigo was an internal thing (ie, I pass it a plane and displacement map/parameters and it did the subdividing) I'm happy to contribute whateve...

Blendigo displacement

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere on the forums... I'm trying to use displacement in blendigo. I've set up the displacement map in the materials panel, but all it does is shift my simple plane up/down. in the igs file there is none of the displacement info in the mesh object (like max...

I think they're about 5mm thick. Here's the blender file (if that helps)

They do have a thickness - but as pointed out I was wary of the nudge distance so probably too thick.

Material is just a specular with IOR=1.5 and cauchy b 0.003. Light map was pisa.exr

Very simple render I created while working on something else. Nothing special but I liked the overall feel of it.

Thanks for all the tips. The actual room that I'm modeling is a minimalist interior - there are no skirting boards. I originally chose it because I thought it would be easier - in hindsight that could have been a bad choice. Here are the additions: Floated the floor and pulled it back from the edges...

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the boards are big. I'm working from a photo and they are in fact very chunky boards - I'm hoping that once I put some furniture in it will have more of a sense of scale. Borgleader : Regarding beveling - I have a post on this topic at http://www.indigorenderer.com/j...

Thanks for the replies! The scene i'm working on is at: http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php?p=58937#58937 I ended up beveling the stairs but didn't bother with the walls. I'm guessing beveling is most noticeable on reflective materials (ie, with highlights). I did try the walls ...

Sparse interior

Hi all, I'm new to Indigo and this is my first attempt. I plan to add furniture when I get a chance, but would appreciate any comments at this early stage. I used something called "Wood Workshop" for the wood textures (+GIMP) which seems pretty handy -esp for the floorboards. What does everyone else...

What should I bevel?

I'm working on an interior scene -walls, stairs, etc. In order to make the scene more realistic i've read that I should bevel edges. I have a couple of questions: 1) should I bevel EVERY edge, or just those closest to the camera? 2) I take it that I need to bevel the edge, and then set the mesh to s...
