If you buy a car, you don't just buy the engine, now do you?
Ehem, that sounds awefully general....
There are exporters that actually work and are quite complete, you know....
Yes, sounds a bit 'general'....like a Toyota Corolla. :), but I think you get the point.
There should at least be working plugins for all host apps geared up for Indigo 2.0.

Apparently, some plugins aren't functional yet for this version.
Speaking for myself, I won't buy Indigo before my host app plugin is operational and before I see some reviews on the quality, speed and extra features (motion blur looks interesting) that Indigo 2.x has to offer.

I find 295 euro a fairly good deal....but only if I can see and feel the product.
( 595 euro is quite a big amount for a render app that was once free).

Maybe the answer for exporter developers is to charge a fee ?.

Personally I would pay for an ongoing Blender exporter that matched the newer versions and features of the commercial Indigo. We live in a capitalist world - why shouldn't they get benefit for there work too?

Whilst I agree that the birth pains of Indigo could have been handled better I still feel Indigo has a renderer that surpasses most of those out there in terms of it's photo-realistic output.

I do think Glare Technologies will need to buck up their after sales support and help a lot but I personally admire their efforts - particularly Ono Sendai for doing something that I couldn't do in a month of sundays - which is to develop this software in the first place, I am crap at advanced maths - no wait any maths  - and no I don't work for them neither am I related in any way :o

I thought of that too. Obviously they should benefit from their work. But this is for GlareTech to sort out, I believe. And for all we know, they have some sort of financial agreement already.

I agree on both counts. :)

I had a license problem - they fixed that one pretty fast. No complaints there. However, communication could be better.

Things are coming day by day. Your support is appreciated but there's only two of us in the office and we can only do so many keystrokes each day. :)

I don't mind waiting at all - all good things come to those who wait :)

However I would really love to see a timetable with estimates on when we can expect to see exporters, documentation, material database and stuff. It's just pure torture to walk around in the dark
