Indigo is going commercial; Indigo 2.0

@Carbon: What's there to be afraid of? No one can offer a license that goes beyond the scope of the product itself....name one piece of software that tells you in it's license agreement that it will guarantee to continue development whilst you are are alive....

Being offered a one time cost for a product's entire lifetime is as good as a commercial license can get. Make no mistake about that. :)

Will RANCH or any other render farm be supporting Indigo 2.0?

What will happen to the the licences of the older versions of Indigo? Will they still be able to be used for work?

Lifetime license? As in until I die? As a Transhumanist I consider this a pretty good deal!

Yes, I think Ranch will support Indigo 2.0.x, when the stable version is released.

You can still use Indigo 1.1.18 commercially.

Im new here. Im very, very interesting about IndigoRenderer.
I think it is "light in the tunnel" for people like me that I need some nice
renderer for high quality rendering but Ican't afford to spend 10000 or 20000$ for all
My rendering farm machines. I plan to buy one license (for start) for My MayaUnlimited2009
on workstation and 12 additional nodes for My render farm that works on linux (Ubuntu).

So (like Carbon) Im interesting about:

In base package We have 1 license and additional one? Or additional 2 nodes for slave machines?

Price for next 1 additional node for rendering on additional slave machine.

Is any discount if I buy 12 additional nodes?

When will be (or maybe is allready?) Linux64bit version for download?

Is it possible transfer a node license from my existing machine to new one if I buy one in the future?

Similar situation is if for example machine is broken (motherboard) or hard drive/system need to be reinstall
becouse is damage...Is any limit of times to activate IndigoRenderer on new motherboard/hard drive with new operating system?

If soo, it will be free or You charge Me somehow again?

Hi Olaf,
The base full lifetime licence comes with one standalone licence and two node licences.

Additional node licences will be 95 EUR for the Beta period, and 195 EUR after that.

Linux 32 bit and 64 bit releases will be available soon. (this week hopefully)

If you need to transfer a licence, you can email us, and we will allocate a new key for you.

Just installed and licensed the x64 bit version and get an error message box with the simple but meaningless message "Error:" when I try to render

Get this both if I try and render from blender using Blendigo 1.1.14 on Windows 7 RC2 or if I try and resume from a igi made in indigo x64 v1.1.18.

Am posting here because I can't post in Beta as I'm locked out of it.

The "Error" bug is fixed for the upcoming 2.0.5 release.

And that error thing i get if i try and render straight from cindigo, but it's not there if i just save out the scene then open indigo and render it from there.

Just says "error". Doesn't matter if I export from Blender or render a test scene from the console... v2.0.4, Windows 32-bit used.

UPDATE : actually it is working when I open the console on its own and import an igs its just not working from Blendigo 1.1.18

it could be that indigo 2.0 don't accept some command line options which blendigo appends. however blendigo 1.1.18 is not compatible with indigo 2.0. so you better don't use them together and save my and your nervs ;) i'll start to make the compatable version of blendigo soon. just be patient ;)

I am wondering about the people that have made paypal donations over the years - they must now pay full price?
Also, all the licenses are almost gone, but the people who want the linux version cannot even purchase it yet.
I really have mixed feelings about this...

You can buy linux licences now - you can purchase the licence now and don't have to create the hardware key until the linux version is available (later this week?).

The paypal donations are appreciated, they went to the cost of running the servers back when nick didn't have any income. (It cost him about 1200 USD a year to run indigorenderer.com).

I presume if you buy the windows version you get Linux as well? Like many users I'm still stuck in windows but will make the translation to Linux at some point in the future.

Ranch haven't responded to my query asking if they would be running with 2.0...
