Background images

What is the best way to set up a background-image? I'm mainly thinking about an interior scene with a view from window. You could try to photoshop it afterwards, but it could prove rather difficult if you have reflections in the glass.

Do you have a plit personnality? or did a mod screw up and edit your post instead of quoting it?

Anyway, there are two ways, either you map it to a plane or use an env map. If you're mapping it to a plane well you should (I think) set it to matte/diffuse material type so it doesnt look (as much) as a physical object but rather "the surroundings".

You might have to "rethink" your lighting set up to mask the fact that your background is an image plane.

Hey Silma,

I think an emitting plane is the best way. Maybe someone can explain better how to do that in Blender.
