one outstanding issue

Post by scatman » Fri Jul 10, 2009 6:49 am

I'm trying to get blender2.49a, python2.5.4, indigo2.0.8 for 2indows32bit, and blendigo2.0.9 to all play nice together here at work; however, if I'm reading the instructions correctly, I'm supposed to use python 2.5.2. The problem is that BLENDER 2.49a requires PYTHON 2.6.2!?!
In a nutshell: Blender2.49a wants python 2.6.2---but---blendigo 2.0.9 wants python 2.5.2...

What should I do?

Blendigo should work with newer versions of python as long as your Blender recognizes the python installation.

I can confirm that Blender 2.49a x64, Blendigo 2.0.9 work fine with Python 2.6.1 x64 all on a windows x64 Vista system (well Win 7 RC1 actually)

Blender 2.49a x64 + Blendigo 2.0.9 + Python 2.6.2 x64 on Vista x64. Everything works.

Well let me tell ya...
specs: Dell Optiplex GX260
Win XP Pro SP3 32bit
512 MB RAM (pathetic, I know; I just work here)
integrated Intel graphics chip

Blender2.49a using Python 2.6.2 works find with blendigo_v109.py and Indigo 1.0.9 on this box.
I then uninstalled Python 2.6.2 and installed Python 2.5.4, but now I get the dreaded "Python script error: check console" with both blendigo 1.0.9/indigo1.0.9 --&--blendigo 2.0.9 and Indigo 2.0.8????

What am I doing wrong?

ya young punks...just kidding!!!
I have the following installed now:
blender 2.49a
python 2.6.2
python 2.5.4
indigo 2.0.8 for Windows 32bit
blendigo 2.0.9 for Windows

Here's the weird thing...I kept uninstalling/reinstalling blendigo and it kept putting a folder named 'temp' in my .blender\scripts folder. However, when I let blendigo install itself in the default location (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts) and in that location it put a folder named "blendigopkg", a python file named "blendigo.py", and an "uninstall.exe". Sooooooo, I copied the "blendigopkg" folder from the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts location and pasted it into the C:\blendeRender\blender vers\blender2.49a\blender-2.49a-avifix-windows\.blender\scripts (where I also have a folder named "temp" which also contains a python file named "blendigo.py", and an "uninstall.exe".
I'm sorry if this is confusing...but somehow blendigo2.0.9 is working now with blender2.49a.
