Need help for translating Indigo to non-english languages.
Need help for translating Indigo to non-english languages.
Hi All,
we're going to be translating the Indigo GUI into different languages.
For the first attempt, we're going to try a German translation. So it would be great if we could have a volunteer to do a German translation!
You will need to download the file indigo_gui_german.ts, (it's in a zip attached to this post)
and then download the Qt linguist package, (also in a zip)
then open the indigo_gui_german.ts file with Qt Linguist. There's about 150 strings that need to be translated.
You can read the Qt Linguist manual here:
http://qt.nokia.com/doc/4.5/linguist-translators.html
If your're keen to do the German translation, please post in this thread before starting, so that we can avoid duplication of effort! Thanks!

Thanks Pure and Zom-B,
here's what the GUI looks like so far. (See attached image)
Pibuz:
Yes, we need Italian translation, your help would be greatly appreciated. I'll put up the Italian translation file once we've done the German one, when I know that the process works.

Re: Need help for translating Indigo to non-english languages.
Some more work done:
Feels strange to do this work for free for a Company, but well...
Translating the GUI also remembers me how much I hate local language versions!!!
The Problem is simply the translation of technical therms, you become unable to
communicate on the Forum in English since you don't know the proper translation!
So please don't force the system language for the GUI but let it stay choose-able
at every point!
