I wouldnt mind if indigo had some options, not everyone needs to use it, it's just an option
How do I render shadow-only pass from Indigo?
Re: How do I render shadow-only pass from Indigo?
Fryrender has even more passes than maxwell again, cant remember them all.

I agree. A depth pass, mat ID pass etc would come in handy. If you don't want to use them, well ... don't.Stromberg wrote:I wouldnt mind if indigo had some options, not everyone needs to use it, it's just an option
In any case, it's probably just a matter of time before the formentioned options are included.

Wow, I never meant to start such a flame war from a simple topic like this, lol!!! I think that the success of Maxwell and Fry show that having compositing options is not detrimental to the quality of the unbiased renderer, in fact it is a strong selling point. Otherwise why would they list that as an important feature. Thanks for all the feedback. I'll probably be using Luxrender since Jeanphi posted a possible solution on the Luxrender forum.

I'd try my technique of doing a clayrender, then desaturate, auto-levels in photoshop and use that as a shadow pass.
I've added a todo to have zbuffer, alpha buffer and some kind of shadow-mode into the Indigo GUI. They'll all be approximations that run on our unbiased core.

Ok, I'll give it a try, thanks!
