The 2.2.1 build that is linked to there is a 64-bit build for mac os x. I'll add 32-bit and 64-bit build steps to our build process soon, so that Mac users get the goodies as soon as the other guys do.

Works fine for me. Tested a few of the testscenes. Will try a few bigger scenes later on. maybe some heavy displacement

35 meshes with subdiv level 4. All resulted in about 500-600k tri meshes.

rendering is slow. dead slow. for some reason indigo didnt even start sampling for about 1 minute (i pressed pause and start again and the it started).

Of course, my desktop is way more powerfull than a Core 2 Duo iMac but not 1000 times more powerful

something is definitely wrong with the mac version. i suspected that for a while but i never before encountered such an extreme case!

Well despite the apparent issues with Mac 64Bit build (I say apparent as I have only just installed it) I just wanted to say thanks for getting a 64bit build out.

Snow Leopard and Indigo 64bit in one day for me. Yay!

I don't know about anybody else's experience with the mac builds, but so far this BVH problem is making a lot of my scenes unusable.

I also have a hunch that the mac builds are significantly less efficient than the windows ones. depending on the scene I am generally getting the same or faster results, speed-wise, from the old 32-bit windows 1.1.18 version, running with wine (crossover mac) on my mac pro, compared to the new mac versions running natively. this doesn't seem right.
