Renderer Crashes when stopped

Post by LuckyNinja » Sat Jul 11, 2009 6:48 am

Hi all, my first post here. I'm currently using Indigo Renderer 2.0.6 and SkIndigo 2.0.4 and whenever I render an image, my computer slows down a bit. Didn't use to be a problem, but now that I've had a computer reformat and have reinstalled it, every time I pause it, the entire program crashes. I'm 99% sure that those were the two I was using before, working perfectly.

Please help and thanks in advance

If your computer slows down, this to be expected. Indigo uses your CPU to render your image. You can set the CPU priority to low in the options menu. This will slow down your render, but also free up your CPU a little bit do whatever else it is you want to do :)

Crashing however is not normal. It is usually the result of not having enough of something. What is your windows virtual memory set to? Your physical memory? I found, once I upgraded to 4 gigs, I could start up 3 separate renderers while retaining their reliability..

Indigo unfortunately, doesn't support GPU acceleration yet, but then again, no other renderer does afaik...

No no, you misunderstand me. I know that the computer will slow down, but the renderer runs FINE, btu when I PAUSE it or PRESS any OTHER button, it CRASHES

LuckyNinja do you get any error messages or option to do error reporting? If you can send us the 'stack trace' we can debug the error for you.
