Please support for installing indigo with max 8

Post by incal » Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:06 pm

hi!

its just great to have the chance to use this awsome tool for free, thank you!

BUT how to install the exporter for max? i think i´ve read all the info here in the forum, but i still can´t open the sample scene from this thread >
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... .php?t=668

i use max 8 and the latest versions from indigo and its exporter and copied the files into the directories.

thx

...but it is crashing.

i rendered a simple teapot/plane /spotlight /physical sky scene and everythign works fine, then i changed to multithreading and indigo crashed.

i changed the settings again, but the scene is chrashing all the time.

another new scene with a specular (glass?) material >
--- unknown property: "ex3ds" in 13 - Default: indigo_specular

i changed the material to indigo-metal, but indigo did not start, no error messages.

restarting max with the same scene again >> indigo is chrashing.

thank you

i used the "U3D-IndigoExport RC0.616", which one is the newest built?

the indigomaterials.mse is already in the startup folder.

3dsmax has never been backwards compatible. You can't open a Max9 scene in max8.

As of the exporter, it works fine with max6-9. In fact, I think U3dreal wrote it specifically using Max8.
