np, that happens when doing bigger mods in code. :roll:
Ok, i understand the fstop thing, should be right, perhaps for readabelity we should change it to:

Code: Select all

aperture_radius = focal_length / (FStop.val / 10) / 2

Zuegs, I have attached what is basically Big Fan's very latest update with my very latest update. So it will still have everything you mentioned in your last comments but will also have my code in it to do with the preview models. Probably best if you do all of your tidying and bug-removing on this version and call it beta 2. :)

Int blendigo 7t7b1d the material select button does nat change the material values... Just selecting another object with another material will change the material values! :-(

UPDATE to v0.7t7 beta 2

@mrCarnivore: is fixed here :wink:

@DaveC, Big Fan: Thanks for your work! I merged all together and hope i havent missed something.
Concerning "image_save_period" in the preview-scenes, i suggest we should set this to around 300 instead of 60, so for all that just want to have a fast look what a meterial looks like (0-2 mins) they don't get a spamed "renders" directory. And for all those who like to publish their materials as PNG they will wait at least 5-10 mins to get it noisefree or they setup their own material preview scene. What do you think?

@Zuegs: I think that's a very good idead concerning save period. But maybe the custom one, which could be used for creating a render for the matDB, should have a lower save_period than the rest. And a larger size, too. So we can have three for quick previews and one to render a high-quality preview to upload to the database? Hmmmm? :P

Silently updated v0.7t7beta2
For simple previews i set 15s for display and 5min for save. The custom preview has 512x512px 30s display and 2mins save.

Even 7t7b2 takes ages to show a first render image in comparison to 7t7b1...

The indigo gui shows instantly but after the done initialising it takes ages...

The previews are renderered quickly but the other renders (especially after rendering a preview) take much longer to show than usual.
