Re: A kitchen scene
Nice, refreshing work! Good to see a "real" kitchen and not another stylish, perfect one out of the catalog
And it does look pretty damn real, especially the images that seem to be taken with a flash.
The only thing that doesn't convince me though is the kitchen towel, it looks like a cgi-towel attached to a real scene.
I like the gas flames , and it's good to see some progress in this scene finally!

Ok, I did one render with your tile material. I didn't modify it. This is "White Ceramic - Procedural/Bump" material taken directly from the database.galinette wrote:Could you try my white ceramic tile material? I've never seen it in a real scene.
The procedural tile misalignment may add some realism, and you can customize the tile & plaster colors to whatever you like

Thanks!
I'd say that the exponent looks too high. The misalignment works well! Maybe it's even too misaligned.
It would need also some UV remapping

Re: A kitchen scene
there's something unreal about that cloth on the right-hand side. It's... too sharp. Maybe make it a little diffuse transmitter or something
Re: A kitchen scene
Yes, the cloth seems to pump to much light (at least posing looks ok to me).
I'd reduce slightly the tile size, misalignement is nice but they come too close and that breaks readibility too much.
edit: now, a flash setup is about the worst thing to evaluate bump mapping

Re: A kitchen scene
I kind of like the cloth
.
But yeah, it was done in a few minutes to fill that empty wall there.
