I'm having a ball with the exporter, Jan! :D
In the evening the curtains close, so I can't look over my shoulder what's the weather doing now.. :D

Glad you like it. There will be a little update with the suggestion of zuegs as mentioned earlier in this thread later this coming week. For now I'm testing the results of this adaptation and so far it looks promising... 8)

Well, what to say now, I've had nighttime, sunny, swinging, to early for sleepy, oh well...

Greetings from cosmopolitan Amsterdam,

Jan

Yup, a nice one, I thought so too...

So I understand it's quiet now over there, the plants I mean...

I've grabbed an atlas from my many bookshelfs and noticed you're in the north of Columbia, and that's there an airport nearby. Beiing a flightsimulator enthousiast as well as a blenderhead, I was wondering, is that a large airport big enough to take my personal virtual 737 for a trip over there or should I take my 'papa hotel dash julliet alpha bravo' (PH-JAB) Dakota since it's a short strip...

Now you know where those sign off lines did come from originally. It became a habit when posting to simulator newsgroups, since living in Amsterdam one is approx 6 to 8 kilometers in a straight birds flight from the biggest dutch airport Schiphol (EHAM).

Well, tomorrow, oops today allready is monday, soo lets be lazy.. 8)

Greetings from sleepy Amsterdam,

Jan

hehehe, not in the north but more like center-eastern part of Colombia (eastern cordillera of the Andes Mountains) ;)
here's a map that shows the main cities here:
Image
Our city is not a major but a "mid-scale" city. Though our airport is not as big as an international one it can take some 747 landings!!! Though mostly fokker 50 are used  so make your pick and pay us a virtual visit! I'll have the beers cold and the chicks hot!!!! hehehhee ;)

To keep in the lango, that's a roger then.. 8)

Well, if you hear that strange virtual buzzing sound overhead you can't place, it's me dropping in for a visit...

At the moment that would be the 'Century of Flight' one from Ms, also known as FS2004 or FS9, but it started all very long ago with FS3 for DOS.. :)

There's a lot going on in that virtual flying region with the release of FS-X, but what I hear most of the time is that it looks great, but runs as the last picture show, even on quite heavy systems. To say it short, don't ever believe the minimum specs on the box... 8)

Does this question implies you're a virtual pilot too...

No, i'm not a virtual pilot yet.
I did use to enjoy flight sims tho, back in the day, mostly combat sims :)
I considered getting back into flying games, tryed the MS flight sim X demo, which was incredibly annoying as it would quit after 10 mins, just as u were lining up to land :) And the frame rate was very choppy, on my reasonable computer.
I also tried an open source one, (forget the name) but it was total crap.
If i find a good program, i think I might give it a go :)

Is it my imagination, or has this thread gone a little bit "off-topic"? Never mind off-topic..,

It's gone abroad!

Oh yeah! Sorry! My mistake ;) Happy Landing everyone. May you have a perfectly unbiased flight.

Yeah, I know the one you mean, it's completely made in OpenGL. As you I tried it once, but never again. That was a long time ago, so maybe it's better these days, I wouldn't know. Ok now it just popped into my mind, it's called FlighGear.

I don't know what the dollar rate is in new Zealand, but if you want to get into it again you should pick up the FS2004 'Century of Flight' version. Tons of free addons available and if you look around a little bit probably not more than 20 dollars US to buy... 8)

Yeah, flightgear.
Apologies to any devs reading this, it's not *total* crap, it's just... really, really annoying.
