Rendering time

Post by arctic85 » Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:01 pm

Hello everyone,

My computer has a Core2Duo 2.4 Ghz CPU and it takes more or less 5-6 hours to get a more or less good render (5000 samples per pixel). I know that this render is supposed to be photo realist. My question is : is there any way to get a good render much faster without setting a lower resolution but maybe losing the realism ? If it's possible, what can I change in skindigo's settings ? If it's not possible, what are your solutions ?

I have to precise that I'm totally new to indigo and more or less new in 3D. Thanks in advance !

U can use exit portals.
If u have more computers u can add slaves.
Lower SSS value, or off.
Cauchy b coeff off.
Dont use medium material with sss on hi particles count mesh like fur.

Be patient. :D
