thank you agian, btw, Phoenix. :)

just did unique material names and started on baking shaders. works quite well. well, if you keep in mind that only UV psace shaders make sense, since im baking per material not per object. ^^

material names have to be unique in indigo.

c4d shaders other than the texture shader or the cindigo ISL shader are going to be baked. not for each object using the shader(eg baking them on the uvmap of the object), but for each material channel (bump, displacement, emission, etc).

baking them per object would require to export each used material for each object and to bake all its shaders. you can image what happens if you apply a material with a shader to a few mograph clones ;)

exploding export times. (and exploding memory usage)

so as long as you use shaders in UV space and dont use those that cannot be used in UV space (fresnel, for example) everything will be just fine. and you have nearly full support of the c4d shader system :)

Hey all,

i implemented baking for all channels today (bump, exponent, emission, etc) and it looks like im nearly finished(just a few details missing). heres a quick test, a marble block on fire, or maybe with dyed hair - you decide

i know its pretty ugly and im sure you all will do greater things wiht this ;)
all maps here are baked from c4d shaders(namely: alpha, albdeo x2, displacement).

just enhanced the editor preview texture a bit, texture parameters are now taken into consideration (a,b and c).

Can it use effects such as filter, layers...?

yes, you can use any c4d shader you want. they will be baked. some wont give usefull results, tho, since they are only for 3d space. fresnel, for example.
