Does anyone know what filetypes are supported and how do I know what materials are applied...
You mean when using the Indigo Instance object with an external file?
supported filetypes are: *.igmesh, *.ply, *.obj and *.3ds
Materials... you have to know what the names of the applied materials are and then create materials with the same names. there is just no other way currently.

This instance is way better then the original. I can make the cloner object editable and still keep instances instead of the original meshes! Great job Yves!

indigo instance 0.3, mac only this time. pc version will follow tonight.
-instances will be created at the position of the original object
-when multiple objects are selected it creates instances of each explicitly selected object (thx to zom-b for that idea, i think its great)

OMG, you're beating Cinema's instances on their own game! :O
