Yeah, please try in the console and send me as much information as you can, including system info and the error message. Thanks!

Hey MSUdom5...

I have the same Problem like Kram, and my output is:

"Der Befehl "java" ist endweder falsch geschrieben oder konnte nicht gefunden werde."

what means in English:

"the command "java" is written wrong or couldn't be found"

I just installed the latest Java package, but could find any 64bit version for windows :/

IMac with Windows Vista 64 Ultimate with an integrated chipset ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT (chipset shouldn't be any issue, playing here Fallout 3 without any Problems atm ^^)

@zomb
Windows has a nasty habit of rejecting the java installers attempt to add java programs to the path, you will need to add it yourself.

edit:
also, mac version does not work, think the mac binary are missing from JOGL.
Yes i know, my spelling sucks

Well, there really isn't an installer for the app. It's just a batch file launching the jar file and manually adding the jogl libraries to the library path.

ZomB, if java isn't in your windows path, you might need to manually point to the java executable by editing the batch file. I don't know why Windows wouldn't see it after installation, but then again, it's Windows.

Kram: I've never seen that behaviour before. :( When you execute from the console, no output is generated? It just gives you a prompt again?

Sorry you guys are having trouble, but this testing is going to help me get all the kinks worked out, so thanks.

I'm starting to think it's your java installation. Perhaps try uninstalling java, redownloading, and installing again?

after doing as eman told I get this output:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Code: Select all

C:\Users\Zom-B>a\64.bat

C:\Users\Zom-B>java -Djava.library.path=.\lib\win64 -jar.\bin\ISLPreviewer.jar

Unable to access jarfile .\bin\ISLPreviewer.jar

C:\Users\Zom-B>
So I tried to open the ISLPreviewer.jar with the Java.exe from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin" having this output:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\Zom-B>a\bin\ISLPreviewer.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: C:\Users\Zom-B\a\bin\

Are you running from the base extract directory? Should be in the ISLPreviewer_v0.1 directory when you launch. The command looks for the jar and libraries relative to the current path.

Hey MSUdom5... I jsut run the 32bit version and "tada" the App is launching :D

64bit version throws out a bunch of debug lines that are closing to fast, but lot of stuff with "bla.bla.bla(unknowen source)"

Great! Yes, even if you have a 64-bit architecture, you may have a 32-bit version of java installed (java is just a virtual architecture running on top of your physical architecture).

Glad you got it working. Let me know if you have other problems.

*trying*...
Edit: WOOT, WORKS! AND even the x64 :D

And after two secs of trying around XD :
Minor Bug: When the window goes down to the taskbar and up again, the preview is gone. You need to click "update preview" that it shows up again...
VERY minor, though ^^

An other one (well, this time not even a bug): could you make tab jump only 4 spaces or so? The jumps are huge and it's somewhat nerving to hit space x-times for getting nice forms... :)

Great sofar!
