The thing ( naked guy, dog, etc) you see is nothing more than the foreground chromed thing. ;)

Very nice render BTW, is there any chance you can explain us if everything is modelled, or if there is some displacement, and if there is, where did you get the maps ?

Hi Alex, Thanks. Everything is modelled here, apart of course from the carpet, which is displaced (in Blender). (the texture was from CGTextures, just made tileable)

May I ask how the details of the fireplace were modelled ? I too use Blender, and the only problem I have is modelling this kind of things...did you use sculpting ?

Hi Alex,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the carvings in the fireplace were sculpted. I just extracted planes in the areas where I wanted bas-relief and subdivided them a few times. Then just sculpted a few random leaves and stuff.
The motifs on the cornice and elsewhere on the fireplace are modelled, and they're all quite low-poly.

I've prepared and packed the marble tile mat. Still having problems getting external mats to work from within Blendigo.

While you wait, have a look at my brown leather material and see if you can make it work ;-)

2nd pov. Render time wasn't too bad actually. About 15 hours at 2400x1800 (50% larger than the first one). Even the full-res image is pretty clean.
The dog's outside now.
