2 questions Resin material test, and dust

Post by tibicen » Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:08 am

What is about "resin material test", and how the dust was done in another test. I looked in to gallery, and it was very interesting.

"resin"?

can you link the gallery image? Most likely, it's done with SSS ;)

ah, that test. It's nice :)
Well, what do you want to know about it?
doublez' link shows you, how to "make" dust :)

Hello everyone, I'm freshly registered in the forum ...

I was wondering too about this material ... "Resin".

How it was done ... It seems to mixing two materials ... and I was thinking that Indigo can't use procedural texs ? Do You know what's the trick ?

I've searching for through many threads to find a tuto or something, but find nothing ...

(and sorry for the bad english ... by the way :? )

Baking the procedural materials in your 3D app to a standart pixel texture map is the trick to use procedural mats in Indigo ;-)
You also can use some complex multi texture blending in Indigo using masks to reconstruct some more complex materials!

Thanks for the quick response ZomB

As in the hyperealistic Grass tutorial for example ? (using pixmaps for alpha channel ?)

Hmm, i'm just searching for a way to obtain a visual effect like air bubbles or splinters (breaks ?) in the internal structure of a transparent material.

If I understand You, I have no other choice that modelize the breaks in the material structure, reverse the normals, give to it air settings for example, and blend that with my transparent material ?

And, uh, I humbly suggest that an admin coul'd move this thread in the Indigo général section maybe ? Or is there a "material dedicated" section ? :D

Many thanks to Ono Sendaï and all who contribute to Indigo in any way ...
I was searching for such a renderer for around six years ... ;)

though, the resin material is quite a complex, well done SSS material, I guess...
To find out about the settings, you might need to ask the maker...
Who made it? xD

In the gallery page, the name of the owner is "Adrian", but there is not any simply "Adrian", just "Adrien" (awesome mantis render, by the way) and "Adrian2608" ...

I've made a search through their posts and find nothing 'till now ... Whos is "Adrian" ?
Who knows ? :D

I keep searching and post few hours later ...

Thanks for the advice Kram ! :)

Uh Oh ... That's what I was thinking, parsing the WIP and finished ArtWorks threads ...
Bah, for a newbie, that's a good way to explore the forum ... :)

Sorry :( no response for the moment ...
That's seems to be a dead-end ...

The last thing I coul'd try will be to create an account on cgsphere.com and leave a message/comment on the sphere's post ...

But oh no, a new account to manage again ... blaah ... Don't want that.

I think this subject is *really* closed, now.
