How to determine what Materials go with which objects???

Post by cosrush » Wed Mar 12, 2008 4:26 am

I have a scene and have many materials from 1 upto 30.

Some are textured, therefore how can I tell which material relates to which object?

Example:

One object is plain coloured and uses the Phong setting
another is textured and uses the Matt setting.

Looking in the materials there is 30 different ones.

How would I set the material setting for the 2x above objects?

I hope this makes sense.........

There is a python script named "Material Works" which can:
* Search for a material in all objects and replaces it with another material.
* Reduce the effect to all/visible/selected objects.
* Rename materials in a list of all materials - no need to go the the object.
* Show who is using the material.
* Calculate the sum of surface areas using material.
* Assign material to selected faces or objects.

You can find it at http://blender.chaloupkovi.cz

Hope it helps,
Ciao
