Bits and bobs

Post by BbB » Mon Mar 03, 2008 2:00 am

Hi Guys,
I've been producing a lot of crap and dodgy experiments lately, which is why I haven't posted for a while. Here's a selection of a few images which turned out to be good enough to show. No particular order or theme, just a random string of stuff. Let me know what you think...

Pretty cool stuff. My favourite is the lamp with glass and statuette.
Which version of indigo are you using for these?

Thanks Ono. They're all 1.0.4 except the lamp image, which is 1.0.6, using Blendigo 1.0.5b

That lamp image is 100% photo real. Just stunning!
Any post work or straight from Indigo?

Ok. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with 1.0.7 :)

Using post-process diffraction should speed up render times a little, and using Mitchell-Netravali filtering for both splatting and downsizing should reduce aliasing.

Thanks mate. The lamp image had the glare effect done in Violet. A little contrast correction and downsampling in Pshop but no major post work.

Also very much looking forward to 1.0.7. Got to wait for updated Blendigo exporter though.

From my point of view, definitely you are in another galaxy texturing and composing scenes...
Agree with Ono; table2.jpg is absolute amazing!
The lamp texture is incredible realistic!

Cheers,
JaMon.

These are all great BbB!

Quick question - In villa1.jpg the rock wall on top, how is that done. Is that a bumpmap or modeled? If it's modeled, how did you do it?

Thanks a lot guys. Glad you like them.

The rocks are just a map (from Arroway.de), with a bump map. The trick is to make sure the shadows on the diffuse map match the scene's illumination (and of course, this being bump, you couldn't do it if the camera wasn't facing straight to the wall).

Camox
Hey Camox. No render farm. Just haven't posted for a while ;-)

you can use 1.0.5 for export for 1.0.7. only alpha is not implemented there
