strange thing is some files the previews work and others i get the message.

it seems to work all the time if i create a new file, but only a few of my existing ones.

i'll attach a .skp file that it won't work with and you can see if it works for you.

Speechless

Post by Creasia » Tue Jan 08, 2008 10:21 am

I am completely in awe of this new plug in. I am a maxwell user and I have been looking for a GUI in sketchup that compares with material editing in 3DS Max. Until now I had decided that this was impossible in SU.

This is extremely user friendly. Thanks!

Another great made in Canada Solution.

Thankyou so much! Spread the word :) User-friendliness has always been top priority for me.

And...greetings from Saskatoon! Welcome to Indigo!

Hey Saskatoon,

How bout them Rough Riders. I am in Calgary.

I'll post the sweet car rendering that I am baking at work overnite. I set it up in about half an hour, thanks to the new interface.

cool.. 8) I forgot (or never knew) you were from Canada.

BTW, I responded to your problem already. Check your render settings and look at your thumbnail path. If the path is not valid, you will not be able to preview materials. The path is saved with your SU file so your old files are pointing to an old invalid path. Your new files are pointing to a valid path so they work. Make sense?

I am in the process of changing how this works so that there won't be any more of this confusion. Thumbnails will always be saved in the indigo folder (the path will no longer be saved with the SU file). This will prevent users from experiencing the problems you (and others) are having.

Hi Whaat!
I never received any Pm from you! :?

The files i've substituted the old ones with, were in the various download areas (i mean, they're the standard ones). It appears it was only my fault: i didn't "uninstalled" previous skindigo installed version..

So sorry..

I work with Haworth, a large office furniture and modular architectural interiors company.

I also have my own business http://www.foresight3d.com

Here is a render that I put together in about 20 minutes thanks to the new interface.

Image

render time is about 16 hours on a dual Xeon 3.4 (model from 3D warehouse by marian)

I dunno, why, but it looks somewhat floating.
Maybe, it's due to the perfectly round wheels, which don't feel any weight of the car above them...
But it looks very nice :)

Small Tweek

Keeping in mind that you are still the guru, I did notice that I have multiple instances of the preset window coming up. If this is in Javascript, you could possibly remedy it by referencing the same window name each time it is called up. :D

I also wish that the indigo material preview render window came up smaller somehow.

Thanks for your dedication. You are working miracles!

I agree :) I haven't not found any way to do this. I launch Indigo with a batch file. I can launch it maximized or default size but I do not know how to set it to a custom size. Does anyone know??
