Very nice render, I love the B&W

Merci Vanessa. The models are very rough in this last image. The one in the foreground doesn't have any subdivision. Just the lo-poly basemesh. And it shows!

Looks great anyway!
Try to use it with 1.0.4, though :D you might get some unexpected good-looking bloom/glare :)

I'll probably upgrade tonight. The problem is I use Indigo on four different machines and I try to run the same version on all of them. But because I'm fundamentally lazy, it takes me a long time to go around the block and do the upgrade. I've even been known to unwittingly skip a version...

Now the light scheme is interesting, very dramatic, element of tension between both subjects :D

I'd say: keep the old rig, at least partially. If I may ;)

Oops. 1.0.4 doesn't work for me. It goes fine for the 800x600 test render but crashes on me when I try 2400x1800. Running Vista... Oh well.

Didn't take a note of it, silly me. Nothing specific if I remember well (I probably don't) more something to the effect that Indigo had to close unexpectedly and if I'd like to contact Microsoft about it. Happens just after warming up is over...

Sounds like RAM problems...
Vista (if it's the 64bit version, which I suppose it to be) should allow up to 8TB Ram... (If Indigo was a 64bit-app, which isn't the case xD)
I forgot, how much it is, with 32bit-apps but it's still reasonably higher than the 2-2,5MB Ram limit than on 32-bit windows...

How much Ram do you have?

Got 4gig of RAM and I've rendered much heavier scenes than that in the past, including with Indigo 32bits. Unless of course 1.0.4 uses a huge amount or ram compared to 1.0.3

Thanks Charly. I'm cooking the aforementioned new angle right now. It's taking ages to clear. Will post it late tonight.

A new angle. 26 hours on my Quad (2400x1800 pixels) using the latest Win 64bit version of Indigo. I don't know which of the two angles I prefer. The setting is better in the first, though the models are clearer in this one. The DOF is way to shallow, though, which drowns the details...
