Could someone with the proper access go there and tell these guys Indigo can do caustics under water without problem! It's just deeply annoying to read these guys repeating over and over again that no unbiased renderer can do it
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 5&start=15
(Sorry if I'm breaking a rule by posting this link. I'm just very annoyed!)

Well...i think could be enough to put under their eyes some simple screenshot took from CoolColJ testing underwater cautics thread...
Before proceeding probably we should ask CoolColJ what he thinks bout it.
regards, R.

That's what I had in mind. Anyone got a Maxwell licence who can post there?

what the hell...i using maxwell some years a go and i thought its realy unbiased and quality engine...well after i found indigo and...u know...
so theese guys dont can get caustics underwater???/
heey in my mind i have the "unbiased" world like a top reality simulation in graphics....(at least this way must is...)
we are proud for indigo...like Nickolas" childs " all we are!

Well, not too many releases ago, Indigo wasn't very fast in showing under water caustics (if you view them from above the surface)... Ono had to speed it up in the last few releases. CoolColJ's intensive testing helped to show the difference, I'd say

And IanT has some special code, just for sun rays (I dunno, what exactly Ono did... maybe something similar to what IanT did?)

I thought Thomas. An was a very techy guy with great skills, but the simple fact that he believe (or that NL let him spread that rumor to appear "higher" tech ?) that maxwell is a MLT renderer is deceiving.
