My first post, my first image.

Post by Salva » Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:31 am

Hello guys, this is my first image in this forum, but not my first work with Indigo.

For a long time I play with Indigo and I´m a habitual reader of these forum, now finally I´ve been decided to participate actively.

This image was render in 3h. 30m. in a Dell CoreDuo 2.4 GH.

I wait for your opinion and that you like.

A greeting, bye.

yeah, 35 h might help a lot with the noise :) (actually, 3x the time also should show significant quality improvements, already)
Not too easy, I know, but what's about making the text less uniform? If there is any chance, to do so, you should make some of the edges frayed out :) (the ink doesn't suck in the paper, uniformly)

even harder (I guess) would be to add non-uniform letters (which human can write that uniform)

a bit less hard, you should add a slight bump map, that shows the pen's peak's stoke :) (you need to find a way, to give it something like a blend of a sine and a gausian gradient :) )

Thanks to all.

You are right Kram, the ink of notes is not very well, perhaps I puts to improve the textures and it makes other render of the image.

Again thanks for your commentaries.

See you, bye.

I don't think, it'll only need 4 hours:
those fireflies very likely will turn out to be caustics or something like that...
But some caustics have the behaviour to show VERY late, much later than others. It's quite random sometimes, so, it can be that the same caustics that turn up after 100 spp and are clear after, say, 2000 in one render, later, in the same scene, just start to turn up after 2000 spp...

 if Salva gets as crazy as you... :)
I think, we should start a sticky thread in the (not yet) upcoming "fun with Indigo" Subforum:
"The Indigo Book of Renderrecords" ^^
