Oops, sorry Big Fan. Nothing that I can see in my PM... Seems to have vanished from there too as I was sleeping (got to do that from time to time, however I hate it)

I haven't. But I'm going to do so now.
(By the way, what's the deal with the big secrecy here? Feels like I missed something - this is not warez is it?)

I must agree with BbB what's the big deal with leaving the attatchment on the post? It's not like it's eating your bandwidth or any such thing...I'm a little confused as well.

No offense meant BigFan, I too sometimes feel frustrated when it seems your efforts to assist a community/project are unsuported

which exporter version is that you are using?

also what do you mean about 'a static particle emitting plane' ?
the script doesnt handle Blender particles...sorry
if you want to do particles you are going to have to make the particles into meshes somehow... apparently there is a script around somewhere in the blender community for that
I'm using v 0.9t4 downloaded from page 1 of this thread.

I'm not trying to render the actual particles but I want to use them to instance a grass mesh a few thousand times...

I have a regular plane as the ground, with a static particle system enabled with slightly random rotation & location. I enabled dupliverts on the ground plane (which is the parent of the grass) and this works fine in Blender.

I want to avoid converting the particles to a mesh because it makes it impossible to tweak but is it possible to have Blendigo replace individual particle locations & rotations with instances of an object?

there is no secrecy
but I am not writing and maintaining the official exporter
I dont like placing it here and then having a lot of people download it
overnight 21 people downloaded this again
It is a test version I made for solidworks handling mostly
as you know I changed the aperture code - it could be wrong...
you need the unique previews and wrapper as well..which are not in the download
I dont want to take over the position of looking after the code
I am a hacker thats all
I just add buttons to the existing framework (which I could not have made)
If I put it here and 6 people say this or that doesnt work or works I am happy
If 50 download it and say nothing I am not happy
I am not happy that those 50 people are using it as their exporter without knowing there are perhaps mistakes in it
I am not happy that 50 people are not using the official exporter
The code in my version and the original is looking different now..
I tell you before if you see something you want in the official one ask smartden to do it ok :)
sorry no more my variant here

But why not letting the peoples have fun with your variant? You should give them more time to play with your Blendigo variant. If they see obvious errors they will post them. I think many peoples do not know if there is something wrong or not (myself included :))
As you said you are the hacker so you should know better what's wrong and what's not.
I say create your own thread where you post/update your Blendigo variant and gather feedback. Do not delete the files even if you are pissed off by the ungrateful community. ;)

I respect your choose Big Fan but I don't understand it...
Many people(like me) find your Blendigo variant very usefull infact i installed your connection and SmartDen's connection...where is the problem???......why don't share it with the community...??? If 5 or 6 or 20 users download your connection...where is the difference??? you'll make happy 5 or 6 or 20 users!!!!!This is the power's community
However if you decide in this way....tnx you for your time...
Pinko. ;)

Excuse me for my poor and bad english!

no.... the community sucks
this is not the blender community I know - outpost or not
I do not spend time (which I dont really have) attempting to improve the script...and do the wiki -after someone else said they would and didnt-...and try to make a video tut for Blender-Indigo newbies... and follow up a 3gb build of python... for your entertainment or happiness...
lets get real here - if you want fun go share your own efforts with each other
I am not interested in feeding you free to take stuff with no give.
I am not interested in providing a script for general use.
As I said you need to ask smartden to add stuff to the official blendigo.
I am not posting any more stuff here - sorry.

I'm confused too, Big Fan. Why did you write the thing in the first place...? And why use Indigo, whose distribution is based on a philosophy you seem to strongly disagree with...? Just perplexed.
