thoes egg chairs arent exactly retro... there still being made and sold for very high prices. i once tried to get one for my room, it ended up being something like 8000 dollars which was ridiculous for a chair.

i would like to see an egg chair that was more... egg shaped; higher and narrower on the top part. would be a much better design. try that and show the results for comparison.

You are correct, of course: this is a sphere shape, and not an egg.

the bright blue hurts my eyes. some more contrasty lighting could be good.

You should bevel the edges and overwork the materials/lighting.

The old indigo render Kram talked about definitely looks better, yet.

@oodmb: Retro doesn't mean it is not produced any more, but that it was "in" a long time ago and then "out" for a while...

give it some more contrast by making the body chrome >.>

Try not to compress the file Jpeg... this could also be a reason why this blue looks so blurry....

the rest is great i think...
